The 6th Annual General Meeting of CSR Cyprus took place on Wednesday, 13.07.2022, at Radisson Blu Hotel Larnaca, with great participation by Member executives.
Chairwoman Elli Ioannidou presented the actions undertaken by CSR Cyprus for 2021 and 2022, as well as the goals set by the BoD for the upcoming year. Among others, Mrs Ioannidou highlighted the successful training programmes implemented between 2021-2022, attended by more than 100 professionals from Members of the Association; the presence of CSR Cyprus at international conferences, as well as the hosting of European partners, within the framework of leading a European project. The contribution of CSR Cyprus to the Cyprus ESG Forum 2022 and the 14th Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility Conference was also stressed. As Mrs Ioannidou stated, cooperation with government institutions remains one of the priorities of CSR Cyprus. In fact, CSR Cyprus was selected by the Cyprus Organisation for Standardization to participate in the National Technical Committee for Social Responsibility, representing also Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation.
Treasurer Panicos Tsolias presented the Financial Statements for 2021, which showcased a healthy fiscal image, allowing the Organisation to 'transfer' this value back to its Members, by organising more and larger scale actions and strengthening its presence in the business world both locally and in Europe.
Following closely all international developments, and bearing in mind the challenges faced by Cypriot businesses with regard to sustainability matters and ESG criteria, CSR Cyprus henceforth changes its name - Cyprus Network for Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility. This change was approved by the quorum of attended Members and was further elaborated by the Association's legal advisor, Mrs Nicole Phinopoulou (Phinopoulou Legal Practice).
Elli Ioannidou extended a big thank you to the Members of the Board of Directors, the Communications Officer, as well as the executives and guests who attended the Assembly and invited all interested parties to follow closely all activities and initiatives undertaken by CSR Cyprus, highlighting the importance of carrying out collaborative work, promoting thus sustainable development in our country.
