The Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, is committed to making a substantial corporate social responsibility impact and continuing the Marriott tradition of Integrity.

Our commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices benefits our associates and the local community, in addition to contributing to our long-term success. The philosophy of our Corporate Social Responsibility program is based on the three pillars of sustainability: Environment, Community and People.

The Environment

Our environment goals are aligned with the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Clean water and sanitation (6), Affordable and clean energy (7), Decent work and economic growth (8), responsible consumption and production (12) and Climate action (13).

Among others, Parklane :

  1. Implements and improves an environmental management system based on ISO 14001:2015 requirements and Green Key Criteria to enhance environmental performance.
  2. Endorses, promotes, and applies the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle approach..
  3. Provides environmental education and training. Trains employees to use equipment in the most efficient way possible.
  4. Manages, measures, and minimizes the negative impact of its operations relating to energy and water consumption, carbon footprint and climate change mitigation, prevention of pollution, environmental pollutants (air pollutants, fertilizers, pesticides), biodiversity and ecosystem protection (local and international), natural resources conservation and waste.
  5. Applies the principle of the ‘4-Rs’ to manage use of plastics: Reduce, Reuse, Replace and Recycle. The hotel assesses and eliminates single-use items that are not necessary.
  6. Identifies the different types of hotel waste, measures quantities, set targets and  plan to reduce the hotel’s environmental footprint through decreasing, recycling and/or reusing waste.
  7. Practices sustainable procurement.

The Community

Our community goals are aligned with the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: No poverty (1), Good health and wellbeing (3), Decent work and economic growth (8), Sustainable cities and communities (11), Responsible consumption and production (12), Peace justice and strong institutions (16) and partnerships for the future (17).

Among others, the hotel:

  1. Implements and improves a sustainability management system based on Green Key Criteria.
  2. Operates a sustainability committee to ensure compliance and demonstrate commitment with sustainability and CSR.
  3. Conducts all hotel operations in an honest, fair and ethical manner and in full compliance with all applicable laws, and by taking a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption.  Demands from all associates to obey the law and comply with specific standards relating to legal obligations, ethics, and business conduct.
  4. Designs sustainability. An alabaster amphora used at a 4,000-year-old perfume factory, the oldest in the world, located near Parklane and an elegant star shape lace design from the embroidery traditions of Lefkara are the symbols that make up our logo and convey the essence of local identity, superior artistry, and exclusive luxury.

Among others, the hotel:

  1. Protects and promotes human rights and freedoms in accordance with the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, irrespective of gender, age, disability, ethnicity, religion, beliefs, ideas, marital status, or sexual orientation.
  2. Opposes to commercial, sexual or any other form of exploitation or harassment.
  3. Protects children from any abuse, neglect, or exploitation and work against child labour.
  4. Applies a code of conduct when working with children.
