CSR Cyprus held its 2nd site visit for 2026 yesterday, Wednesday, 6 May 2026, with a visit to The Cyprus Institute (CyI), one of our country’s leading research organisations and a founding Member of the Network.
The visit was organised within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between CSR Cyprus and The Cyprus Institute, to strengthen collaboration and advance joint initiatives that connect the business community with research, innovation, and sustainable development.
During the visit, participants had the opportunity to learn about the Institute’s evolution, its research and academic programmes, and the extensive international network of collaborations it has established. They were also introduced to the Institute’s energy practices and sustainability initiatives, designed to reduce its environmental footprint and promote responsible operations.
Particular interest was shown in two programmes: FAROS AI, which supports the development of a national hub for the artificial intelligence ecosystem, and Diginn, which aims to enhance the digital readiness and transformation of Cypriot businesses.
As part of the programme, participants were guided through four of the Institute’s laboratories:
• Andreas Pittas Art Characterization Laboratory
• High Performance Computing Facility
• Unmanned Systems Research Laboratory
• Instrumentation and Nanotechnology Laboratory
Initiatives such as this visit contribute significantly to one of CSR Cyprus’ core objectives: promoting good practices, fostering networking, and encouraging knowledge exchange among its Members.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to The Cyprus Institute for its warm hospitality.
