“Environmental, social and governance practices to accelerate sustainability competitive advantages”

Fourteen executives from companies-Members of CSR Cyprus participated in the first overseas training programme organized by the Network between June 10-14 2024 in Sweden.
The participants visited 11 organizations and businesses in Uppsala, Orebro, Elskilstuna, and Stockholm. Among others, the following aspects of sustainability were covered:
- Sustainable environmental education - visits to the Pumphuset Center - Uppsala Vatten in Uppsala and Orebro University. At Orebro University, the 7th most applied-to university in Sweden, an eight-hour intensive program included presentations on how the academic institution promotes sustainability, and how it is integrated into the operations, curriculum, scholarships, and other platforms/research centres.
- Sustainable public transportation - Uppsala Region
- Sustainable public urban planning - Royal Seaport planning office
- Sustainable consumption - A visit to the world's first sustainable mall, ReTuna Recycling Mall, which operates in Elskilstuna, revolutionizing the way shopping and recycling are understood.
- Collaboration and knowledge sharing through a visit to CSR Sweden, the National Partner Organisation of CSR Europe in Sweden.
Moreover, pioneering companies presented their sustainability strategies and actions:
- Scandic Hotels - Sustainability at the heart of the hotel industry
- Electrolux - One of the leading global appliance companies worldwide, with over 100 years of presence.
- Swedish Games Industry - Sweden is the 5th largest country in Europe in terms of revenue from the games industry.
- ΑIK Football - A team building a better society through evening football, offering a safe place for the leaders of tomorrow
